Q: Where does treatment occur?
Treatment occurs in the home and the community based on the service that is being provided but may also be conducted in various “out-of-home” locations (e.g., recreational areas, work settings, clinical appointments) so as to appropriately address the person-centered needs of the client.
Q: Who is involved in the services provided?
While the client is the primary target for services, the whole family is involved given that the entire family must share in addressing the issues requiring mental health skill-building services and intensive in home services for a particular member of the family.
Q: How are services funded?
Services are provided through Medicaid; therefore, all clients must be Medicaid recipients.
Q: What is the admission criteria for Mental Health Skill-Building Services
Individuals with the following characteristics may qualify to receive services from Turning Point Family Services for Mental Health Skill- Building Services
- 18 years and above
- Have difficulty establishing or maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Exhibit such inappropriate behavior that repeated interventions by mental health, social services, law enforcement or the judicial system are necessary
- Have a clinical mental health diagnosis such as Schizophrenia, Bipolar or Major Depressive Disorder
- Require help with basic living skills such as maintaining personal hygiene, preparing food, managing finances and/or medicines to such a degree that health or safety is jeopardized
- Currently have prescriptions for anti-psychotic, mood stabilizers, or anti-depressant drugs.
- Have a history that indicates any of the following Residential crisis stabilization, Psychiatric Hospitalization etc.
Q: What is the admission criteria for Intensive In Home Services
- 5 to 21 years of age
- Exhibit such inappropriate behavior that documented repeated interventions by the mental health, social services or judicial system is necessary.
- Exhibit difficulty in cognitive to such a degree that person is unable to recognize personal personal danger or recognize significant inappropriat behavior resulting in being at risk of out of home placement.-
- Unable to maintain or establish normal interpersonal relationships to a degree that they are at risk of hospitalization or out of home placement due to conflicts with others in the family or the community.
